the brief
|
To design a games microsite to trail the main guinnessrecords.com site due for launch 23rd October 2000. The games microsite targets the core Guinness Records demographic - males 12 to 35, and becomes the basis of an expanding games section on the main site.

Rom and son developed four record breaking interactive games for guinnessrecords.com. Each game is based on a real GWR record breaking category and there is a ranking table for top scorers. Rom and son has built on its considerable experience in designing and implementing playful marketing media to create a series of games for Guinness World Records which are compelling and fun to play, develop client relationships through data capture, and encourage repeat visits and word of mouth recommendations.

WORMS challenges you break the record for eating live worms - 62 in 30 seconds. The way to do it is tilt your head back and swallow them whole. Obviously. CHEERLEADERS asks - how many cheerleaders can you squeeze in a VW Beetle inside one minute? The record is 25, set in Kemser, Austria. Beat that, if you can. CHILLI is a game of human endurance versus the vegetable world. How many chilli peppers can you eat before your head catches fire? A contestant at the Magoyan festival in the Philippines ingested 350 of the world's hottest inside 3 minutes. Now it's your turn. Remember - chew properly and no spitting OSTRICH is a tribute to the world's fastest land bird - a track n' field two player ostrich racing game, fingers on the buttons, they're off!
